Assembly

Everything in one place. Ready to install.

We assemble fabricated components, bought-in parts, and sub-assemblies into complete, ready-to-install systems. Our workshop handles everything from mechanical assembly to electrical integration, delivering tested units that are built to work and built to last.

What's possible
Complete systems, not just components

Assembly is where we bring together individual engineered components into functional systems. We follow technical drawings and build sequences, using practical knowledge and ingenuity from decades of precision engineering. That means solving problems on-the-fly and fixing snags as they occur – so your final assembly meets spec and performs reliably in service.

  • Mechanical assembly — Bolted, riveted, and fastened connections
  • Welded assembly — Joining fabricated sub-assemblies into larger structures
  • Electrical integration — Cable routing, terminations, and component mounting
  • Hardware installation — Hinges, locks, handles, and access panels
  • Gasket and seal fitting — Weather-tight and pressure-tight assemblies
  • Sub-assembly management — Coordinating multiple components and suppliers
  • Testing and commissioning — Functional checks before dispatch
  • Protective packaging — Secure transport preparation for finished assemblies.

Process Timeline

We map out the build sequence before touching a single part. Component construction order, required fixings and fasteners, coordination of bought-in parts. We identify potential fitment issues, check part availability, and prepare assembly jigs or fixtures if required. Planning eliminates delays and rework during the build.

Components are fitted, aligned, and secured in line with approved documentation. Mechanical fixings, torque settings, and alignment points are controlled throughout. Assembly is carried out by engineers who understand both structure and function.

Additional systems are integrated, electrical components wired, control panels mounted, cable routes dressed and secured. Hardware like hinges, locks, and access panels are fitted and adjusted for smooth operation. This is where the assembly becomes a complete, operational unit.

Final checks confirm everything works as designed. Doors open and close properly, electrical connections are tested, moving parts operate smoothly, fixings are secure. We compare the finished assembly against drawings and specifications, documenting any deviations. The unit is cleaned, protected, and prepped for delivery or installation.

Benefits
One workshop. No handoffs. No excuses.

Assembly under one roof eliminates coordination headaches and finger-pointing between suppliers. We manage complexities inside our workshop rather than leaving it to site conditions. That control reduces installation time, limits rework, and ensures what arrives on site performs as intended.

FAQs

Your assembly questions, answered

Specifying metalwork isn't always straightforward. Here are the questions we hear most often — and the honest answers.

Can you handle fabrication and assembly as a single package?

Yes, that's how most of our projects run. Designing, fabricating, and assembling under one roof means fewer handoffs, fewer coordination headaches, and fewer opportunities for things to go wrong between stages. You get a single point of responsibility from raw material through to a finished, assembled product ready for delivery or installation.

How do you quality-check assembled products before they leave?

Every assembly is inspected against the original spec before it's signed off. That includes dimensional checks, fit-up verification, and a full visual inspection. For projects with specific compliance requirements — NHS environments, MoD contracts, structural applications — we provide documented inspection records as part of the handover package.

Do you deliver assembled products ready for site, or do we need to plan for assembly on arrival?

Wherever possible, we deliver fully assembled and ready to install. That's the whole point — reducing what needs to happen on site. Where size or access constraints mean full pre-assembly isn't practical, we'll break it down into logical sub-assemblies with clear labelling and fixings included, so your install team can get it up quickly without guesswork.
