Structural Steel

Structural steelwork that goes up right and stays right.

Structural steelwork fabricated to specification and delivered ready to install. Designed to integrate properly with wider structures and services. Built to work, built to last.

Common Features
Fabricated to carry the load

Our structural steel service covers primary and secondary steelwork for commercial and industrial applications. Each element is fabricated in line with approved drawings, load requirements, and connection details. We control tolerances carefully to ensure components fit as intended once on site.

  • Primary Steel Frames – Load-bearing structures fabricated to structural specification.
  • Secondary Steelwork – Supporting frameworks integrated with main structures.
  • Plant Support Structures – Steel designed to carry mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Mezzanine Frameworks – Structural platforms fabricated for internal installations.
  • Bracing Systems – Reinforcement elements designed for stability and load distribution.
  • Connection Assemblies – Plates, cleats, and structural junctions prepared to detail.
  • Modular Steel Sections – Fabricated in sections for transport and phased installation.
Process Timeline

We review structural drawings, load requirements, tolerances, and connection details before fabrication begins. Interface points with existing structures are confirmed early. Clear understanding at this stage prevents costly adjustment later.

Fabrication drawings are developed or verified to ensure manufacturability and installation accuracy. Connection methods, plate thicknesses, and reinforcement points are checked carefully. Any refinement required is addressed before material processing.

Steel components are cut, formed, and welded under controlled workshop conditions. Dimensional accuracy and weld integrity are monitored throughout production. Structural elements are built in accordance with specification.

Completed steelwork is checked against drawings and structural requirements. Connection points, alignment, and overall geometry are verified before finishing and dispatch. Components are prepared for efficient lifting and installation on site.

FAQs

Your structural steel questions, answered

Specifying metalwork isn't always straightforward. Here are the questions we hear most often — and the honest answers.

Do you provide structural calculations and CE marking?

Where required, yes. We can supply structural calculations, and our steelwork is fabricated in line with the relevant standards for your project. If CE marking or specific certification is part of the spec, we'll confirm exactly what's needed at the quoting stage so there are no gaps at handover. We'd rather sort this out upfront than have it become a problem when your building control officer turns up.

What scale of structural steelwork do you typically handle?

We fabricate secondary and light structural steelwork — mezzanine frames, support platforms, canopies, lintels, brackets, and bespoke structural elements. We're not building multi-storey car parks, but if your project needs steelwork that has to be fabricated accurately, delivered on time, and coordinated with other trades on site, that's where we operate. Most of our structural work sits within NHS refurbishments, MoD facilities, and commercial construction projects.

Can you coordinate with the main contractor and other trades on site?

We do it regularly. Structural steelwork rarely exists in isolation — it ties into foundations, cladding, M&E services, and whatever else is going on around it. We coordinate with your main contractor on delivery sequencing, crane access, and install schedules. If we're fabricating steelwork that other trades need to fix to or build off, we'll make sure dimensions, connection details, and tolerances are agreed before anything leaves our workshop.
