About the project

Freemans Event Partners needed two flagship catering units for Wembley Stadium, 32-foot installations built to serve tens of thousands of people across football, concerts, and boxing events. Standard setups in this environment run around 20 feet, so everything had to be custom.

One unit served Greek food, the other a grill. Both had to look the part inside a national stadium, perform under serious operational pressure, and last decades with minimal maintenance.

Freemans developed the creative concept with an external interior designer. JGB's role was to turn that vision into something that could be built, transported, installed, and used effectively, guiding decisions on materials, structural build-outs, and what would actually survive a stadium environment rather than just work on a mood board.

When third-party catering equipment didn't fit as expected, JGB remanufactured the affected sections. The original cladding spec called for full-length panels; JGB recommended modular sections instead, so any damage during transport or on-site use means replacing one piece rather than an entire side.

Digital signage lets Freemans swap menus between events and adjust pricing in real time, with no physical changes and no revenue lost during downtime. When timelines shifted as Freemans' own event calendar evolved, JGB adapted and communicated early when a deadline wasn't realistic.

The units were handed over with almost no snagging. This is the fifth build in a long-standing relationship. Freemans still operates JGB-built units that are over 25 years old, well beyond the industry expected lifespan. JGB continues to provide maintenance and remote support post-installation across Freemans' UK locations.
